This board is compatible with the Arduino DUE
, while the RAMPS 1.4
is only compatible with the Arduino Mega 2560
This is because the Arduino DUE board has a ARM Cortex M3 processor with Atmel SAM3X8E operating at 3.3V and not at 5V as happens in the MEGA 2560.
The RAMPS-FD board can manage more power than the RAMPS 1.4. This means that the heated bed heats faster and bigger stepper motors can be used. It can work with 12V or 24V (advised). You can use our S-400-24V power source
for this purpose.
It can handle up to 3 extruders independently (heaters, thermistors and steppers).
The Arduino DUE board consumes less and computes faster than the Arduino MEGA 2560. It has pins for high (15mA) and low (3mA) intensity.
The fuses in the board are the same ones used in the car market and can be easily replaceable.
The RAMPS-FD has also a dedicated SPI port and 4 multipurpose USART/SPI ports.
NOTE: The jumpers for the stepper drivers are also included. In this board, these jumpers are located close to the drivers and not below, so they can be manipulated without removing the drivers.
