ABS (Acrylonitrile Butadiene Styrene) is very robust thermoplastic, even at low temperatures. It is also hard, rigid and resistant to abrasion. It is used, for example, for building the LEGO blocks.
This plastic can suffer of warping if printed with a cold heated bed, but applying one or more of the followinf solutions could mitigate this effect:
• Print over
Kapton tape and a bed that has been pre-heated to 248 °F.
• Print over a crystal heated bed at 176 °F using
lacquer that varies its properties with temperature.
• Print over
BuildTak surface, pre-heated from 60ºC to 90ºC
ABS plastic is soluble in acetone. It degrades under UV radiation so it is not suitable to pieces exposed to direct sunlight for a long time as the color can fade and the plastic can become brittle.
