These linear bearings provide low friction motion along a single axis. The cipher in the name indicate the diameter of the rod that can work with the bearing, in mm. UU indicates this is a contact seal bearing.
• The LM6UU linear bearings are used in small printers like the Huxley.
• The LM8UU linear bearings are the most common type of bearings used in RepRap/Mendel/Prusa 3D printers.
• The LM10UU and LM12UU bearings are mainly used in CNC routers.
In order to lubricate them, add 3-in-1 oil inside the bearing. Don't apply the lubricant in the bars since the bearing will wipe it off when moving. Avoid dense lubricants as the can keep the small balls inside of moving freely.
The LMXXLUU bearings are longer. Thus they provide smoother movements and prevent possible vibrations.
